It is integrated into Fitch Global Structured Finance group, which analyse securitisation transactions across four main asset classes: Residential Mortgage Backed Securities, Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities, Asset Backed Securities and Structured Credit.

Fitch Ratings maintains ratings for over 100 covered bonds programmes from more than 20 countries in Europe, Northern America and Asia-Pacific, accounting for about 900 billion euros of bonds.

The department is spread across several locations, mainly in continental Europe. The Frankfurt-based team focuses on the analysis of covered bonds issued out of Germany, Central & Eastern Europe and Nordic countries.

What We Offer:

  • A small team within a larger European and global department which allows you to think differently and have a tangible impact on the team’s output and performance
  • A work environment where collaboration across teams is encouraged, on an ad-hoc basis, through secondment or internal transfers
  • A rare opportunity to develop knowledge and technical expertise across several jurisdictions, especially in European mortgage markets
  • An inclusive atmosphere based on a culture of continual learning - through curiosity, outspoken debate and collaboration and in pursuit of the highest analytical standards.

We’ll Count on You To:

  • Prepare rating decisions and present your analysis at internal rating committees, including an accurate quantitative modelling of asset and liability cash-flows
  • Applying Fitch’s rating criteria in a consistent manner while treating cases on their merits
  • Produce fluent, concise commentaries and reports publishing our rating actions and credit rationale
  • Conduct a qualitative assessment of the operational risks based on calls or on-site reviews at the issuing financial institutions
  • Monitor a portfolio of rated covered bonds programmes, including new issuance for existing programmes
  • Review relevant laws and regulations as well as legal documentation
  • Demonstrate professionalism at all times in communication with issuers of rated programmes
  • Adhering to Fitch policies and procedures

What You Need to Have:

  • Prior professional experience, internship or traineeship in the banking, finance or audit industry, ideally in the field of credit analysis
  • Numeracy and computer proficiency is a pre-requisite, including use of Excel and application of modelling skills
  • Fluency in German as well as the capacity to communicate complex ideas verbally and in simple written business English.
  • Master degree or equivalent with a specialty in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Maths or Statistical Sciences

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Clear communication skills
  • Keen attention to details and logical sense
  • The capacity to work independently while also being a good team player
  • The ability to cope with time pressure and deadlines
