Fitch Ratings is currently seeking an Associate Director, Software Engineering / Technical Lead
This position overseas a team that develops tools for the staff in Fitch’s Analytical functions that improve data quality, accessibility and standardization, increase automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual handling, deliver data visualizations for informed analysis, as well as maintains applications that generate additional types of content.

We’ll Count on You To:
- Lead technically complex systems with strong hands-on experience in design and development.
- Interpret complex requirements associated with analytical tools.
- Design, architect, and implement required applications in an Agile environment.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Enterprise Architects to understand requirements and advise on technical solutions.
- Architect, design, and implement applications and databases in conjunction with the Architecture Chapter.
- Lead the team in setting up CI/CD pipelines for projects and integrate them with the organization's delivery mechanisms.
- Provide production support and help establish technical best practices.
- Stay current on the latest information technologies, identifying methods, approaches, and technologies that may improve our software development processes.
- Work with the Risk and Quality Assurance team to ensure adherence to framework and coding standards.
- Mentor and train software developers on the team.
What You Need to Have:
- Ten years of extensive experience in enterprise software development with solid design, development and hands on coding experience in Python, implementation of APIs, conducting code reviews, experience in SDLC with a primary focus on agile methodologies.
- Strong background in relational database design
- Working knowledge in application servers, web servers, operating systems, and web application architectural concepts
- Experience in working with CI/CD deployment tools such as Bamboo and source control tools (GIT/Bit Bucket)
- Self-starter, Independent thinker and problem solver
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with a mixed co-located & offshore team
What Would Make You Stand Out:
- Familiarity with reporting/BI tools like Qlik SaaS, Power BI, etc., ETL platforms like Talend and Alteryx, low code / no code platforms like Appian and Decisions, Cloud Computing AWS or Azure (Compute, Storage, Database, Deployment and Application Services, EKS, SharePoint, Kafka, Microservices etc.)
- Experience in Financial Services or another regulated industry
- Strong academic background, educated to degree level, ideally in computer science or engineering
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- High motivation to deliver results and meet deadlines

FOR NEW YORK ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rate for the role will be $120,000 - $140,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
