Senior Analyst – Corporates, Infrastructure and Project Finance Ratings – Brazil

The Latin American Corporates, Infrastructure and Project Finance team is currently seeking a Senior Analyst based out of our São Paulo office.

We’ll Count on You To:

  • Lead and support on ratings analysis and research on new and existing transactions, in particular those related to the industrial sector in Brazil.
  • Gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative data and legal documents for the purpose of producing high quality internal and external ratings, publishing credit reports, and contributing to special research reports.
  • Lead and assist in virtual and in person meetings with senior management of project sponsors, investment bankers, and financial advisors to produce ratings and reports for general publication.

What You Need to Have:

  • 3 to 5 years of project finance or credit-related experience, ideally in the industrial sector.
  • Previous experience with credit/financial analysis and financial modelling gained in audit companies (Big 4), consulting firms, investment bank, credit research, bank credit department, a rating agency, buy-side credit department, structuring and advisory firms,etc.
  • Quantitative and analytical thinking.
  • Attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
  • Adequate modeling skills and familiarity with spreadsheet-based financial models.
  • Solid writing and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English.
  • Team oriented, with ability to effectively build relationship both externally and internally.

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Spanish language skills.
  • CFA candidate at any level; or CFA charter holder.
  • Ability to read and fully comprehend complex structures and to ask probing questions to issuers and their advisers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and display a strong degree of flexibility to take on additional responsibilities, as required.
