Sustainable Fitch (SuF) is seeking a dynamic Sustainable Fitch Product Owner to join our growing team in Chicago, New York, Toronto, or London.

 

This pivotal role supports SuF in building and distributing advanced data and research products tailored to sophisticated ESG-sensitive fixed income investors. Reporting to the Head Product Owner, you will ensure the quality, usability, and delivery of ESG data, which is central to SuF’s value proposition. We’ll Count on You To:

  • Lead a Product Squad – Engage with your squad daily to drive product priorities, resolve obstacles, and foster a collaborative environment to ensure product objectives are achieved.
  • Serve as the ESG Data Expert – Organize, document, and iterate on our data to accelerate its use in reporting, analytics, and product development contexts.
  • Ideate with Customers – Understand internal and external customer problems and needs, translating what you hear into innovative solutions with actionable plans.
  • Collaborate Across Initiatives – Leverage shared services provided by other squads across Fitch while managing interdependencies to ensure timely and successful project outcomes.
  • Build Trusted Relationships – Maintain a detailed understanding of our products, respond promptly to internal and external inquiries, and resolve issues empathetically.

 

What You Need to Have:

  • Project Management Expertise – Experience breaking down complex initiatives into actionable tasks, determining the optimal sequence, and proactively identifying and addressing risks.
  • Strong Communication Skills – Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective customer engagement and creation of world-class product documentation.
  • Effective Listening & Decision-Making – Proven capability to absorb diverse perspectives, evaluate options, and prioritize actions that balance technical feasibility with business viability.
  • Commitment to Continuous Growth – Demonstrated enthusiasm for learning and applying new knowledge to improve processes, drive innovation, and help maintain a competitive edge.
  • Bias for Action and Agility – Experience in fast-paced or startup environments, balancing a strong sense of urgency with the adaptability needed to navigate shifting priorities and goals.

 

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Prior experience as an analyst, data analyst, data scientist, or data engineer
  • Prior experience working in or leading an Agile team, with a deep understanding of Scrum practices and methodologies including behavioral driven development (BDD)
  • Exposure to a wide variety of datasets including different domains, structures and formats
  • Background in financial services and/or ESG, with an understanding of key challenges and opportunities
  • Proven ability to work independently with data using your preferred tool of choice (e.g., SQL, Python, R, PowerBI, Qlik, etc.)
  • Passion for design and UX, with a focus on creating intuitive, visually appealing assets that enhance understanding and usability.

FOR NEW YORK and CHICAGO ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay salary range for this role is $130,000 - $180,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors.  Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
