Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack

Fitch Group is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack based out of our Chicago office.

Fitch Group Technology has a number of agile teams that deliver world-class innovative solutions to Fitch Group customers. This position is within one of our agile teams delivering software products for our Sustainable Fitch business.

We’ll Count on You To:

• Build enterprise-scale websites and applications using full-stack technologies.
• Work as part of an agile team in design, development, debugging, and deployment efforts while addressing security, cross-browser and cross-platform expectations and concerns.
• Partner with the product owner and teammates to understand business needs and translate those into needs into designs and implementations using engineering best practices.
• Build data expertise and a deep understanding of business domain knowledge and own data quality for allocated areas of ownership
• Write automated unit, integration, performance and visual regression test cases.
• Integrate test case execution, including both unit, integration and behavioral tests, with the CI/CD pipeline to better align with the DevSecOps strategy.
• Promote, implement, and evolve development best practices

What You Need to Have:

• 5+ years of experience in creating modern applications using Microservices-based architecture.
• 5+ years of experience with Java and associated open-source technologies, such as Spring Boot.
• 3+ years of experience in relational or NoSql databases
• 3+ years of experience in designing and developing scalable web applications using modern front-end frameworks such as React/Vue.
• Expertise in modern package management, build and test frameworks (e.g. NPM, Yarn, Webpack, Jest, Enzyme, Karma, Jasmine, Mocha, Wraith).
• Experience with build and deployment pipelines
• Experience working in teams with a heavy emphasis on Security, Automation and Quality (DevSecOps).

What Would Make You Stand Out:

• Exposure to native AWS data technologies, ETL, Orchestration and analytics such as AWS Glue, Athena, S3, Lambda, Glue, EMR Spark, MKS, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch, etc.
• Hands-on experience with Python
• Exposure to Docker, container orchestration and Argo CD
• Experience with Next.Js
• Hands on experience with Kafka
• Exposure to Starburst or other Data Mesh tools
• Passion for emerging technologies and innovation
• Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.

FOR CHICAGO ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $130,000 and $140,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors.  Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
