Fitch Ratings Sri Lanka is currently seeking an Analyst/ Senior Analyst for the Corporate Ratings team.
Fitch Ratings Sri Lanka provides public and private ratings of companies and their debt instruments on the national rating scale. Debt instruments include senior and subordinated debt, commercial paper, bank loans and preferred stock.

We’ll Count on You To:
- Undertake quantitative analysis including comprehensive financial statement forecasting, comparable analysis, and bankruptcy evaluation
- Undertake qualitative analysis focused on factors such as business models, competitive strengths, management strategy, industry analysis, and regulatory considerations
- Provide support to senior members of the analytical team in developing credit rating recommendations through extensive research and financial modelling support
- Take lead analytical responsibility for a portfolio of 8-10 corporate issuers, and assume secondary analytical coverage on a similar number of rated entities over a 12-18 months’ p. The exact portfolio assumed will be tailored to suit the individual’s skills and experience and is expected to grow over time
- Present or support the team to present and discuss rating recommendations and key credit issues supported by financial forecasts and industry / peer analysis of Sri Lankan corporates to rating committees
- Additional analytical focus will comprise contributing to the team’s ad hoc sector- and issuer- commentaries, detailed thematic sector research reports, and rating actions to events of the day
What You Need to Have:
- Three years of relevant experience preferably in credit- or equity-research
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or Accounting or a Quantitative discipline
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Proficiency in use of Excel and Word
- Be a self-starter. You will be expected to show initiative as well as managing and prioritizing time, working both independently and as part of a team
- Be a strong team player with excellent inter-personal skills, an ability to integrate quickly into an established team
What Would Make You Stand Out:
- Solid analytical and financial modelling skills
- A keen interest and knowledge of corporate industries in Sri Lanka is a plus, with a demonstrable capacity to clearly discern relevant credit issues
- CFA charter-holders or candidates who are working towards completing the CFA exams will be considered favourably
