Model Development – Analyst

The Model Development Team at Fitch Ratings is looking for a quantitative analyst to develop and enhance credit rating models for Structured Finance, Corporates, Financial Institutions, Sovereigns, Public Finance and Infrastructure Finance sectors.

We’ll Count on You To:

  • In this position, you will have the opportunity to analyze and assess credit risk/rating.
  • You will be teamed up with other talented specialists to research, design, implement or enhance models, conduct comprehensive testing, and prepare model documentation.
  • You will also have the opportunity to help other team initiatives such as trainings and user/client support.
  • Through these projects, you will gain valuable knowledge of credit modelling, have a good understanding of rating methodology and criteria, and develop working knowledge of model governance framework and regulatory environment.

What You Need to Have:

  • Advanced Degree (Master or PhD) in quantitative disciplines such as financial engineering
  • Programming and model development experience in Python and/or R
  • Experience in VBA is a plus
  • Prior experience in credit risk or financial modelling is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey technical concepts clearly
  • Ability to solve problems using critical, rational and creative thinking
  • Self-motivated with ability to manage timelines across multiple projects
  • Strong work ethic and strong team player

 

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Solid programming skills in R, Python, VBA
  • Prior experience in credit risk or financial modelling
  • CQF - nice to have but not required

FOR NEW YORK AND CALIFORNIA ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between x and y.   Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors.  Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
