Fitch Group Marketing is currently seeking a Head of Corporate Communications based out of our Canary Wharf, London office.
The Head of Corporate Communications will be a key member of Fitch Group’s Marketing organization, responsible for creating, managing and executing communications strategies aimed at raising awareness of Fitch’s profile and brand, while managing reputational risk and supporting the company’s business objectives.
The Corporate Communications team works closely with other corporate affairs and business line subject matter experts to ensure Fitch’s global and sector narrative is clear and relevant to our core target audiences. The team executes strategic media and public relations plans to promote Fitch’s high-quality ratings, research, and analytical expertise.
What We Offer:
In this role, you will work with your global team to design media campaigns and communication strategies for our senior executives and analytical spokespeople, aimed at raising share of voice and visibility across key firmographic targets. You will work with our marketing operations team to monitor and measure success and make continual improvements to your strategy.
Importantly, you will partner with marketing and business relationship management colleagues to direct ample media attention towards Fitch Group’s target growth markets.
This high-impact role will be tasked with growing our brand presence, maintaining a positive corporate image, and effectively communicating our key messages to various stakeholders, including media outlets, customers, regulators, prospective employees and the general public.
We’ll Count on You To:
Media Relations

- Oversee global media relations function, requiring excellent collaboration skills, senior expertise in media and public relations, and existing media relationships with business and financial media in key markets.
- Work closely with Fitch Group businesses to develop proactive communications strategies to enhance visibility in the media and relationships with reporters
- Deal directly with broadcast, print, online and specialist reporters to ensure the optimal positioning of Fitch research and the thought leaders who develop it; ensure strong relationships with beat reporters covering the relevant analytical groups and businesses
- Develop cadence of regular media interaction for Fitch analysts and proactive distribution of news about rating actions, product developments and industry commentary
- Develop core messages for significant initiatives and press interviews, while providing effective media relations counsel to senior management
- Contribute to media relations strategic planning for analytical groups and businesses supported; support publicity and award recognition efforts around key sectors and markets
- Develop targeted communications programs in support of new product launches, acquisitions or other strategic growth areas across Fitch Group
Public Affairs
- Manage Fitch’s Crisis Communications Policy and Media Policy working with key stakeholders
- Partner with marketing teams to influence brand communications toolkit in support of executive communications around brand ambassadorship
- Provide insight and council to enable senior leaders to better communicate vision and convey brand purpose, key product/service value propositions, etc.
- Deliver writing and messaging support, both hands-on and through global team, around key speeches, market events and industry and regulatory-related presentations
- Nurture development of Fitch speakers through implementation of coaching programs to deepen bench of media-ready SMEs
- Work closely with Employee Communications organisation to coordinate and align messaging with external facing communications
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective communication programs in support of Fitch’s CSR and DEI objectives
- Partner with Human Resources and Senior Management to ensure proper communications support around key recruitment, community relations, and employee brand value proposition work.
What You Need to Have:
- Significant experience in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, and Corporate Affairs, with a ideally 5 years expereince in a leadership capacity and 5 years in financial services sector
- Demonstrable experience developing and executing global strategic communications plans that utilize a wide variety of channels and media, across very different media markets
- Strong financial acumen with an understanding of and familiarity with financial markets, the regulatory landscape, and the fixed income investment community
- Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability and gravitas to operate at all levels of an organization working closely with senior executives
- Track record of using communications to drive brand growth in target markets, aligning with the company's vision, values, and business objectives
- Agency management experience required
- Experience setting KPIs and measures for a corporate communications function
- Experience working in a large international organization, with wide range of internal stakeholders.
What Would Make You Stand Out:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism, marketing and/or communications
- Prior experience at a PR agency supporting financial services clients a plus
- Prior experience with change management communications a plus
