Fitch Ratings is seeking an Analyst within the Leverage Finance sector in the European Corporates Group, based out of our London, UK office.

 

The Global Leveraged Finance Research Group is responsible for producing a portfolio of research across the US and European Leveraged Finance Markets. This includes research on defaults and distress, credit performance focused quarterly reports and ad hoc commentary that speaks to timely and noteworthy trends in the market.

We’ll Count on You To:

  • Support senior members of the Leveraged Finance team in the publication of flagship research
  • Prepare market updates and presentation materials
  • Present at internal and external peer meetings
  • Participate in the evaluation of other credits within Corporates, as well as other related credit groups.
  • Work closely with development team as they build-out and maintain lev fin related databases, applications or support of processes related to the extraction of data necessary for lev fin research

 

What You Need to Have:

  • A demonstrated understanding of and keen interest to deepen your understanding of Leverage Finance, distressed debt, restructuring and/or bankruptcy analysis
  • A background in corporate finance and individual issuer credit analysis
  • The ability to act as the point person between the tech development team, Enhanced Analytics, CPG, analytical sectors teams and other members of the Lev Fin team
  • Strong process and project management skills with ability to take ownership of projects to completion
  • Quantitative and database management experience
  • Quantitative skills and ability to efficiently work with vast sets of data
  • Strong writing and communication skills displayed by a pattern of leadership and the ability to proactively and successfully interact with various stakeholders, both within and outside of the organization.

 

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Bachelor's degree at minimum, interest in obtaining CFA a plus
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Word; knowledge of Access a plus
  • Computer programming skills a plus (SQL, Python)
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills
  • Ability to take responsibility and ownership of projects and run them independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change
  • Ability to excel in a team-oriented environment
