Business & Relationship Management (BRM) is currently seeking a Market Research Associate based out of our London office.

 

This exciting role will work directly with senior team members in the EMEA Financial Institutions (FI) BRM team and ultimately report into the Global Head of Fitch’s Funds & Asset Managers (FAM) Group in New York. The group covers a variety of fund structures across public and private markets (equity/credit).

 

The primary focus will be on supporting senior members of the team by taking ownership of several tasks critical to managing a large deal pipeline. The candidate will be directly accountable for business management processes at the direction of the Global Head and senior team. This will include direct responsibility for tasks related to the execution of commercial agreements, invoicing and revenue reporting.

 

The candidate will support the senior team in expanding relationships with fund managers, financial sponsors, and fund finance lenders to originate new rating mandates through targeted outreach and client engagement. The right candidate will be provided with opportunities to participate and further grow into market facing activities.

We’ll Count on You To:

  • Prepare commercial agreements for new and existing issuers and coordinate with Fitch’s finance team to process associated billing and ensure proper revenue management. This area is critical and will have high visibility directly from the Global Head of FAM in New York.
  • Research and validate new business opportunities, combining actionable market data from multiple sources. Manage opportunity lifecycle in Fitch’s internal systems across a large business pipeline with heavy deal flow.
  • Manage and organize data within MS Excel to ensure accuracy and consistency. Assist in creating and maintaining Excel templates for recurring reports.
  • Contact external stakeholders, organise meetings and prepare appropriate background information as required.
  • Generate pitch decks, presentations and other marketing materials at the direction of the senior team.
  • Attend meetings with senior team members and maintain data in Salesforce CRM system.

 

What You Need to Have:

  • Relevant university degree, preferably in a business, finance, economics, data analytics related field.
  • Strong Excel/data analytic skills (lookups/index/pivot tables/macros/formulae/shortcuts) with ability to manage and synthesize large volumes of information. Advanced PowerPoint presentation skills.
  • High attention to detail and experience in data management (preferably financial) is required.
  • Ability to strive in a fast paced and deal driven work environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the desire to grow into a market facing role over time. Candidate will be required to interact with several key stakeholders across different groups internally and externally.
  • Candidate should be a “self-starter” who is comfortable with direct responsibility for critical tasks and direct accountability to the senior team.

 

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Experience in business management, contract execution and invoicing/revenue management
  • Experience in the funds industry and familiarity with private equity/credit markets. Debt Capital Markets experience/financial markets knowledge
  • Self-starter with strong time management and first-class organisational and completion skills
  • Ability to multi-task, adopt and respond to changing priorities in a quickly growing sector
  • Great interpersonal / communication skills with ability to interact with several people and teams daily
  • Integrity, curiosity, willingness to learn and a positive attitude
  • Prior knowledge of CRM systems
  • Familiarity with financial data systems such as Bloomberg and FactSet.
  • Additional language skills
