Ratings Operations is currently seeking a Business Analyst based in our Manchester office.  

 

The Fitch Ratings Analytical and Business Applications Tribe is responsible for building systems used by our credit analysts. We provide internal users with information and tools to help inform and deliver their decisions. We automate analytical processes to improve efficiency and reduce risk. This Business Analyst will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that technology solutions align with business needs. The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver that can work proactively to get things done in a matrixed organisation.

We’ll Count on You To: 

  • Align business strategies with technology solutions -– Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex business needs into standardised, robust, and scalable technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical teams – Partner with agile squads to create and prioritise user stories, identify risks, understand technical complexities, and analyse data flows between sub-systems. Assist with the analysis and documentation of workflows, system designs, and use-cases.
  • Foster communication and understanding – Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams. Ensure that agile squads understand business goals and the value of software being produced. Work with teams across the organisation to advance projects.
  • Contribute to process improvement – Identify inefficiencies in current processes and systems and recommend solutions to optimise workflows.

What You Need to Have: 

  • Degree-level qualification and/or 1-3 years of experience in business analysis and requirements management with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to work well with teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills. An analytical mindset with the ability to proactively identify issues, propose solutions, and drive improvements.
  • Comfortable working with a complex network of stakeholders in a high-demand environments. Ability to influence cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.
  • Superb follow-through and an ownership mentality.

What Would Make You Stand Out: 

  • Experience in breaking down business problems.
  • Experience in Behaviour Driven Development, Event Storming and User Story Mapping.
  • Knowledge of low-code platforms such as Appian or Decisions and data modelling.
  • Familiarity with relational and noSQL databases, Starburst, Excel and AI tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks, Jira, Confluence and AI tools.
