Fitch Ratings is currently seeking an Analyst or Senior Analyst in Manchester.
Fitch Ratings’ EMEA Corporate group provides public and private ratings of companies and their debt instruments in Western Europe and, increasingly, also in CEE, the CIS, Middle East and Africa. The department employs a team of over 100 credit analysts across Europe. In addition to London, Fitch’s largest office, the department has analysts on the ground in Frankfurt, Warsaw, Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Stockholm and Dubai.
The Corporates group split into six sector teams: Utilities and Transport, Consumer and Healthcare, Natural Resources and Commodities, Industrials, Telecoms, Media and Technology (TMT) and Services, and Real Estate. In addition, a specialist Leveraged Finance team focuses on credits with leveraged capital structures.
The EMEA TMT & Services corporate team covers a wide range of industries, with over 140 public and private credits and 18 analysts – some of which are based in London, with the rest located in Frankfurt, Barcelona, Milan, Paris, Warsaw and Stockholm.

We’ll Count on You To:
- support senior team colleagues with rating processes for a portfolio of credits focusing on TMT sectors interacting with corporate debt issuers and rating advisors, in some cases in collaboration with other corporate sector teams, especially with Leveraged Finance on high-yield bonds or leveraged loan transactions
- monitor news and results flow to identify events or trends which may lead to rating changes
- present and discuss your rating recommendations, ideas and facts effectively in writing and verbally to a rating committee
- deliver quality outputs to internal and external parties within deadlines
- use effective questioning and listening skills in internal credit discussions and those with external constituents
- assist in producing thematic research reports in your coverage sectors
- support senior team colleagues in preparation of presentations to investors and prospect issuers
- conduct work in compliance with all relevant policies and procedures
- be available to travel in EMEA region, primarily in western Europe
- contribute to a team spirit of intelligent and open discussion as well as of cooperation
What You Need to Have:
- independent thought and some experience gained from a corporate credit or corporate finance background in banking, financial services or industry
- solid cash flow modelling skills
- general knowledge of financing instruments and familiarity with financing documentation
- well-developed communication and team work skills
- fluency in all forms of written and spoken English
- time management skills and ability to cope with tight deadlines
- reliability and integrity

- knowledge of leveraged finance and high-yield structures and financial products
