Department overview:

 

Reporting to the COO of Fitch Ratings, the Ratings Business Analytics (RBA) team provides in-depth strategic analysis to drive better outcomes for Fitch Ratings. Using a data-driven approach, RBA works closely with Ratings Operations heads and other groups throughout Fitch Ratings to develop strategic analyses, evaluate costs/benefits for new initiatives, and produce recommendations toward process improvements and re-engineering.  These efforts support firm-wide strategic objectives that will deliver significant business results such as improved operational efficiency, revenue growth and the development of new products.

 

Role Responsibilities:

 

  • Work with a team of experienced, subject matter experts to improve processes and solve live business problems and contribute to strategically important business opportunities
  • Review Ratings processes and develop comprehensive process documentation, including process maps, flowcharts, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Work on a variety of interesting projects and business cases across the entire ratings business with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Review any existing documentation to confirm the documented process is consistent with the process currently followed by the relevant groups within the business
  • Responsible for various deliverables such as process flows, data flows, use cases, process documentation, impact analyses, and other project artefacts and process work
  • Utilize process mapping and analysis techniques to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement and optimization (i.e. BPMN, UML, etc.)
  • Identify aspects of the Ratings process that can be standardized or automated, especially leveraging technology solutions or AI; provide recommendations for implementation
  • Work with IT and Ratings Squads to align process improvements with technology enhancements and system improvements
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in process optimization and bring innovative ideas to the organization

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in process analysis, business analysis, or a related field within the financial services industry
  • Proficiency in process mapping and analysis tools (e.g. Visio, etc.)
  • Solid stakeholder interviewing skills to document current state processes
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing process improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of process mining and related technologies
  • Strong capabilities in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • A collaborative nature; a team player who works effectively with colleagues and project stakeholders
  • The ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize different assignments while maintaining accuracy and adhering to tight deadlines
  • Superb follow-through; propensity to approach tasks and goals with an ownership mentality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating an ability to work well with teams & stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior Credit Ratings experience or knowledge a plus
