LevFin Insights, a Fitch Solutions Company, seeks a Senior Leveraged Finance Reporter based out of our New York office

LevFin Insights (LFI) provides news and commentary on the global leveraged finance markets to customers in banking, fund management, credit research and legal services. We cover bonds, loans, private credit, structured finance and special situations, and we’re looking for a senior reporter to cover US leveraged debt. You’ll be chasing news on primary issuance, digging into individual credits, uncovering emerging trends, turning data into stories, and more.

We’ll Count On You To:

  • Nurture and build your source network to deliver exclusive, source-driven, real-time news

  • Collaborate with other reporters, and with complementary teams within Fitch Solutions, especially Covenant Review and CreditSights
  • Represent LFI at conferences and industry events 

What You Need To Have:

  • Three to five years of experience writing about credit, ideally leveraged finance or adjacent markets
  • A drive to break news in a fast-moving market
  • A clear understanding of what makes a great credit story, an appreciation of what makes markets tick, and curiosity about complex financing structures
  • Resilience and excellent inter-personal skills to build strong relationships with sources
  • Attention to detail, good time management, strong writing skills

 

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • A track record of uncovering stories and scoops in a previous role
  • Expertise in high-yield and/or leveraged loan markets
  • Excellent sources to draw on across leveraged finance

FOR NEW YORK AND CALIFORNIA ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 nd $160,000. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors.  Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
