About the Team:
The Fitch Group Chief Data Office (CDO) team is seeking a Data Governance Associate. This position will develop and implement standards to govern data throughout the enterprise to ensure trusted data and enable the strategic objectives of the organization. The Data Governance Associate will work closely with business analysts and technical teams to ensure the processes, standards and solutions designed as part of the wider data governance, digital and artificial intelligence initiatives are built and implemented to successfully achieve the required business outcomes, specifically in the areas of data management and data quality. This position will report to the Data Governance Lead.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Build out and produce key collateral for data governance meetings (materials, minutes, metrics) and report and track on program deliverables and improvements to senior leadership
- Coordinate periodic data governance processes, attestations and control testing, supporting our Data Governance Role holders in discharging their responsibilities
- Develop detailed knowledge of Fitch’s data, data flows, and processes.
- Support adoption of the Data Catalogue and Data Marketplace by Data Governance Role Holders by collaborating with Data Producers and Data Consumers to embed data stewardship best practices, and troubleshooting data governance related issues
- Work closely with our tech partners to refine software development requirements and to test new features
- Explore and assess process improvement and risk mitigation opportunities in our Data Governance framework
You May be a Good Fit if:
- You have 3+ years of experience in data governance, management, or change management roles, focusing on improving data integrity through standards and policies.
- You are knowledgeable in data governance best practices, tools, and data protection approaches.
- You have experience with data management tools like Collibra, including metadata management and data quality.
- You are proficient in data skills such as Business Process Modeling, Data Profiling, and Master Data Management.
- You demonstrate strong analytical and stakeholder management skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to deadlines.
What Would Make You Stand Out:
- Relevant experience in the Financial Services industry, with a focus on ratings, and experience in working within a data domain as both a data producer and/or consumer.
- Practical knowledge of emerging regulatory compliance frameworks related to AI, privacy, and digital services, as well as experience with Data Management frameworks like DAMA.
- Familiarity with tools such as Collibra and Starburst, and experience in implementing “data mesh” concepts.
- A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Technology or Business Administration, knowledge in database development and administration.
