System Administrator - Intermediate

 

The Fitch Group is seeking an experienced and eager Systems Administrator to join the Technology Operations team within Fitch’s IT Infrastructure Group.  We are looking for a talented technologist who can quickly diagnose and resolve complex issues across a variety of interrelated platforms and technologies. The successful candidate will have experience with a wide variety of technologies, be a fast learner with a drive to learn and work with new and exciting technologies.

We’ll Count on You To:

  • Function as the Subject Matter Expert for Fitch’s configuration management database
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation such as discovery, reconciliation, verification, synchronization and resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise
  • Configure different type of discoveries/integrations and work with the relevant stake holders as needed
  • Provide support and resolve or escalate tickets as needed.
  • Perform server maintenance and upgrades
  • Leverage scripts and IaC to automate and drive agility in the team

 

What You Need to Have:

  • Experience in ITIL configuration management process and configuration management process and Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
  • Experience with Lifecycle management
  • Experience with Discovery techniques such as WMI, SNMP, SSH, etc
  • Experience using the CLI for working with and troubleshooting Linux servers
  • Experience troubleshooting common issues on Windows servers
  • Experience with EKS and Kubernetes containers
  • Experience with global configuration tools such as Ansible or Chef
  • Experience working with Network Storage technologies (NAS, SAN)
  • Experience with automation and Infrastructure as code
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs
  • Experience working with git and repositories (Github/Bitbucket)
  • Experience working with network devices via the CLI
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of VMWare
  • Familiar in Hardware asset Management (HAM) and software Asset Management (SAM)
  • Familiar with management of End Point Protection software
  • Familiar with Log management systems such as Splunk, Sumologic or others.
  • Familiar with management of host-based firewalls.
  • Familiar with Database Systems
  • Familiar with Backup Systems
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant work experience preferred.

  • Excellent collaboration, customer service, and communication skills to work in a team environment.
  • Able to work quickly and effectively under pressure and to efficiently handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Hands on Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Datadog, Zabbix or others
  • Hand on Experience working with AWS services (Ec2, Route53, RDS, S3, ASG, Workspaces etc)

FOR NEW YORK ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $110,000.   Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors.  Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
