Credit Analyst/Senior Analyst – Covered Bonds
The Covered Bonds team is seeking an Analyst/Senior Analyst based out of our Frankfurt office.
Fitch’s Covered Bonds department maintains existing ratings and assigns ratings to new covered bonds programmes. It is integrated into Fitch Global Structured Finance group, which analyse securitisation transactions across four main asset classes: Residential Mortgage Backed Securities, Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities, Asset Backed Securities and Structured Credit.
Fitch Ratings maintains ratings for over 100 covered bonds programmes from more than 20 countries in Europe, Northern America and Asia-Pacific, accounting for about 900 billion euros of bonds.
The department is spread across several locations, mainly in continental Europe. The Frankfurt-based team focuses on the analysis of covered bonds issued out of Germany, Central & Eastern Europe and Nordic countries.

We’ll Count on You To:
- Prepare rating decisions and present your analysis at internal rating committees, including an accurate quantitative modelling of asset and liability cash-flows
- Applying Fitch’s rating criteria in a consistent manner while treating cases on their merits
- Produce fluent, concise commentaries and reports publishing our rating actions and credit rationale
- Conduct a qualitative assessment of the operational risks based on calls or on-site reviews at the issuing financial institutions
- Monitor a portfolio of rated covered bonds programmes, including new issuance for existing programmes
- Review relevant laws and regulations as well as legal documentation
- Demonstrate professionalism at all times in communication with issuers of rated programmes
- Adhering to Fitch policies and procedures
What You Need to Have:
- Prior professional experience, internship or traineeship in the banking, finance or audit industry, ideally in the field of credit analysis
- Numeracy and computer proficiency is a pre-requisite, including use of Excel and application of modelling skills
- Fluency in German as well as the capacity to communicate complex ideas verbally and in simple written business English.
- Master degree or equivalent with a specialty in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Maths or Statistical Sciences
