Fitch Ratings is currently seeking a Director (Economics) based out of our London office.
About the Team:
Fitch Ratings Economics team, in tandem with the Sovereign ratings team, is the conduit for the firm's most visible, high profile analytical messaging, research and outreach activities that are critical to extending the Fitch Ratings brand and supporting growth in the business. The economics team produces the flagship Global Economic Outlook (GEO) report, covering 20 of the world’s largest economies, which forms the firms’ global macro view.

We’ll Count on You To:
- Take the lead on GEO forecasts for number of major developed or emerging economies
- Produce thematic and topical global macro research reports and commentary
- Co-ordinate and develop macro input into credit analysis and research by ratings teams
- Engage in economics team outreach including media, conferences, investor meetings
What You Need to Have:
- Master’s degree in economics
- Extensive experience as an applied macroeconomist in policy, research or market role
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to initiate and execute original and insightful global macro research
- Forecasting experience and knowledge of forecasting and modelling techniques and scenario analysis
What Would Make You Stand Out:
- Excellent understanding of macroeconomic policy trade-offs and challenges
- Awareness of interactions between macroeconomic conditions and credit environment
- Knowledge of global fixed income and credit markets and their use of credit ratings
