Fitch Ratings is currently seeking a Market Research Associate in Business Relationship Management team with a focus on Financial Institutions based out of our London office.
About the Team
This exciting role will report to a Director in the EMEA Financial Institutions (FI) Business & Relationship Management (BRM) team. The principal objective is to support the FI Team with the origination of new FI rating mandates, through targeted outreach and client engagement, as well as to manage and optimise existing relationships, with issuers and other market participants.

We’ll Count on You To:
- Support senior team members’ efforts developing and executing marketing plans to pursue opportunities to generate new rating mandates and support existing relationship development plans
- Research and validate new business opportunities, combining actionable market data from multiple sources
- Organise and participate in meetings, prepare background information and follow up as required
- Maintain and update data in our Salesforce CRM system including preparing commercial agreements for new and existing issuers
- Develop knowledge of core business development data and create marketing materials including: pitchbooks, case studies, pricing studies and coverage slides
- Download and manage large data sets in Excel & ensure marketing materials are kept up to date
- Use online web-based platforms to monitor market activity and trends to support marketing messages
- As part of the FI Associates Pool, collaborate on global projects and assist with events
- Respond to external stakeholder and internal requests (‘day-to-day’ business)
- Demonstrate the ability to prioritise workflows and adapt to changing deadlines while maintaining very high levels of attention to detail
What You Need to Have:
- University degree or apprenticeship, preferably in a business, finance, economics or data analytics related field
- Strong PowerPoint and Excel/data analytic skills (lookups/index/pivot tables/macros/formulae/shortcuts)
- Extremely detail orientated
What Would Make You Stand Out:
- Financial industry experience, gained through exposure to debt capital markets, banking, corporate finance, or credit analysis
- Knowledge of online web-based platforms such as Bloomberg, Factset, Dealogic
- Experience with Client Relationship Management systems (ie Salesforce) and ability to generate reports
- Ability to multi-task, adapt, respond to and manage changing priorities
- Self-starter with excellent time management, organisational and completion skills
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills including strong communication and presentation skills, verbal & written
- Ability to work independently with supervision and guidance from senior team members
