About the Team

BMI's team integrates cross-domain expertise (Economics, Politics, 20+ industries, ESG, Commodities) and computer science to create systematic country-by-country risk analytics and time series forecasts that are transparent and can be validated. We build and maintain robust models that our customers use to identify and manage a wide variety of country risks.

We are looking for a project manager for our growing Analytics and Data product team. We have a multi-year product strategy to deliver unique, data-driven value to our diverse user base across financial services, corporates, and government sectors.

You will work closely with product managers, technical leads, designers, data scientists, and subject matter and domain experts. We will count on you to help these truly cross-functional teams to collaborate and deliver value against our roadmap throughout agile product development lifecycles. This means you will be heavily involved right from discovery through to design and building of 0 to 1 products, helping our teams identify dependencies, manage risks, and deliver our bets in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Be a partner to product managers and technical/data leads in leading complex projects from initiation to completion. Develop and manage detailed project delivery schedules, integrating cross-functional dependencies, financial planning, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations and support the project scoping through the product development lifecycle for 0 to 1 products. This will be right from initial opportunity identification through to product builds.
  • Work across multiple projects on the analytics and data product portfolio and manage dependencies within these squads and supporting teams outside this portfolio within BMI and Fitch Solutions.
  • Lead risk management, project governance and continuous process improvement, and proactively help us understand dependencies and resolutions, particularly cross-platforms and squads. Identify and surface risks early and implement mitigation strategies along with the right stakeholders.
  • Help us deliver on scope, time and budget; by supporting spend assessments and ensuring we flex scope/budget as needed by raising risks well ahead of time.
  • Support agile product discovery and design, enhancing efficiency, team collaboration and instill an outcome and value driven culture. Utilize Jira and Confluence (and any other tools) for project tracking, documentation, and communication.
  • Cultivate a high-performing team environment, supporting collaboration and innovation. Understand team dynamics and team styles to maintain team health and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on project status and performance.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement

You May be a Good Fit if:

  • Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • 5 years of hands-on project management experience, preferably in B2B and cloud/software project management or a high-tech environment
  • Strong experience in leading cross-functional teams, managing stakeholder relationships, and driving business-critical initiatives.
  • Strong record of collaboration across Data Science, Technology and Product teams
  • Expertise in project governance, risk management, and financial planning.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working with data science and data operation teams
  • Proficiency in using Jira and Confluence for project management and documentation
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent people management and interpersonal skills, enacting change practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Experience of the B2B information industry, financial market data and analytics
  • Exposure to different cloud-based data and analytics platforms (e.g. AWS, DataBricks, Snowflake).
  • Experience working with data, ML and GenAI and familiarity with API and web-based data delivery systems
  • Ability to work as part of a larger team and being willing to take on projects at short notice
  • Customer-facing experience, notably in understanding end user needs and building collaborative relationships.
  • Certification in Agile methodologies
