Fitch Group is currently seeking an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller based out of our Manchester office.
The Assistant Controller is a key Finance team member dedicated to supporting Fitch Learning’s operations. This role acts as a primary point of contact for operational finance, helping to integrate our recently acquired business whist providing support to FP&A and Management Accountant teams.

How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of our business lines and their strategic objectives in relation to financial operations.
- Serve as the main operational contact for Fitch Learning, ensuring smooth financial operations and reporting
- Lead the integration process for the newly acquired business, coordinating with relevant teams to embed best practices.
- Master workflow systems from order to cash & purchase to payment, proposing process improvements.
- Manage monthly performance reporting with full accountability.
- Support FP&A by building robust reporting structures and refining financial forecasting models
- Prepare analyses and provide actionable insights for senior management.
- Drive process enhancements in financial operations to support strategic business goals.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions that drive efficiency.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial data is available for decision-making.Offer ad hoc support to explore trends and resolve emerging issues
- Function as a reliable Business and Finance partner to the Fitch Solutions Management Team and Group Finance/Accounting.
- Working with senior stakeholders to influence major financial decisions.
You May be a Good Fit if:
- Prior experience in accounting or finance, with a background in operational finance or business integration.
- Proven experience of business operations and process improvements that have been delivered
- Experience with integration projects following business acquisitions.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and financial software applications (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint).
- Problem-solving abilities utilizing available resources effectively.
- Fully Qualified or part-qualfied Accountant.
- Excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail..
