Corporates/Banks Senior Data Analyst

Fitch Group is currently seeking a Corporates/Banks Senior Data Analyst based out of our Monterrey office.

The Corporates/Banks Senior Data Analyst will be part of our Data Operations team responsible for collection and extraction of all fundamental data needed across Fitch Group.

 

Candidates will be required to analyse and maintain data for Corporates/Banks entities within Fitch systems. More specifically they will be required to interpret financial data from annual and other periodic reports, to ensure data is extracted from the balance sheet, income statement and associated notes in line with Fitch methodology. Candidates will also be required to support client queries both internal and external on this data as they arise.

We’ll Count on You To:

  • Supervise and manage 3 Data Analysts covering Corporates and Banks data.
  • Have advanced knowledge relevant to the analysis of financial data, to ensure information from annual or periodical reports has been collected in line with Fitch policies and methodology.
  • Proactively identify trends in quality assurance reviews and queries, thinking critically and creatively to solve problems, addressing the root causes each time.
  • Provide proposed solutions to help refine methodology actively contributing to process improvement, understanding how and why Fitch policies/ regulatory requirements may impact upon or dictate solutions/ procedures.
  • Stay updated with new developments, thinking beyond immediate tasks to anticipate future needs.
  • Ensure that monthly targets are met by working with the Data Team Manager and Data Analysts to ensure all key tasks are delivered on time.
  • Provide training to Data Analysts and outsource teams where required.
  • Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders on financial data queries (via email, on the phone or face to face), understanding and addressing the underlying business needs, resolving disagreements and handle challenging clients effectively.
  • Act as a point of contact within the business and understand the broader impact of their work across Fitch Group.

 

What You Need to Have:

  • Advanced knowledge of accounting practices to interpret all aspects of a financial report, qualified to a degree standard in accountancy or business studies as a minimum.
  • At least 2 years’ experience working with financial statement fundamental data essential.
  • A second language would be advantageous.
