The position involves working with senior members of the Banks team on all aspects of the rating process, including responsibility for a portfolio of companies.

We´ll count on you to: 

  • Undertake, as a Primary or Secondary Analyst, credit ratings on new rating mandates as well as monitoring of existing ratings with adherence to Fitch criteria and processes.
  • Perform analysis of key quantitative and qualitative factors influencing the credit quality of banks.
  • Provide active support to other senior members of the team in data collection, macro/microeconomic research, peer comparisons, internal tools, among other operational tasks.
  • Actively participate in rating committees, offering your opinion and insight.
  • Closely follow market developments surrounding rated transactions and issuers; taking necessary rating action where required.
  • Communicate rating rationale to external audiences (i.e. rated entities), press releases and written research reports.
  • Conduct regular Issuer/Sector/Market research to assist with your analysis and compile rating reports and committee packages.
  • Participate in internal discussions on sector-wide credit issues that could lead to publication of research reports.
  • Publish external research (including issuer reports, special sector reports, presentations).
  • Assist in external outreach or take responsibility where required
  • Financial data entry and maintain up-to-date databases/systems

 

 

You May be a Good Fit if:

  • Analytical experience performing credit analysis in financial institutions (bank/investment bank, regulator, investment manager or similar or consultancy/accounting firm).
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a specialty in Finance, Economics or Accounting is required.
  • Deep understanding of macroeconomic variables as well as of financial statements and ratio analysis.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and organizational skills.
  • Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change.
  • Technical Proficiency (Excel/Word/PowerPoint, Data Analytics).
  • Ability to analyze Banks in depth for the purpose of assigning credit ratings, strong understanding of macro financial system risks.
  • Resourcefulness in terms of managing challenges associated with data collection and analysis
  • Confident and articulate in communicating with internal/external constituents, with strong business English writing skills and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrable inquisitive, broad-minded and forward-thinking analytical nature, with international perspectives in relation to credit matters.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Able to work independently yet contribute to team objectives.

 

What Would Make You Stand Out: 

 

  • Experience and knowledge of financial statements and business models of financial institutions, including new trends in the industry as fintechs and digital banks.
  • Strong leadership and teamworking.
  • Ability to solve complex issues and present solutions.
  • Proficiency in use of AI tools and related appliances.
  • Experience performing financial forecasting.
  • MBA and/or CFA, or progress toward these designations.
