About the Team

Fitch Ratings is seeking a Trainee Analyst to join our Latin America Corporates team, based in our Monterrey office. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team, contributing to the analysis of corporate issuers across Latin America. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform data analysis of key quantitative and qualitative factors influencing Latin American corporates, supporting existing ratings, new rating mandates, and research publications.

  • Conduct quantitative analysis, including financial statement forecasting and peer analysis.

  • Undertake qualitative assessments of business models, competitive strengths, management strategies, industry trends, and regulatory considerations.

  • Assist in maintaining Fitch’s financial databases.

  • Support lead analysts in preparing materials for credit rating committees.

  • Collaborate with senior team members to publish research and presentations for both internal and external audiences.

  • Participate in credit evaluations, including presenting analysis and recommendations to credit committees.

  • Take part in meetings with executive-level management teams to deepen understanding of their businesses and industries.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Advanced English proficiency, both verbal and written.

  • Exposure to financial statement analysis in a work or academic setting.

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Team-oriented with a proactive work ethic.

  • CFA candidate preferred; CFA or CPA a plus.

  • Demonstrated interest in credit analysis and debt capital markets.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of successful collaboration across departments.

  • Interest in deepening exposure to corporate finance and credit analysis.

  • Enjoys critical thinking and developing well-reasoned opinions
