BMI is currently seeking an Analyst in BMI Advisory team based out of our Mumbai office. This is a one year fixed-term contract.

About the Team
The Analyst reports to the Risk Advisory Team Lead and works in close partnership with the Senior SME (technical authority), Advisory BD team, Risk Advisory Team Lead, the Mumbai Analyst Team, and Fitch Solutions Product Specialists. The role supports the delivery of risk advisory projects by conducting risk modeling, data validation, research, and analysis; preparing client-ready materials; and presenting internally and externally while maintaining high standards of quality and documentation.
In addition, the Analyst collaborates across teams, applies standard techniques and methodologies with guidance, contributes to process improvements and innovation, and develops domain expertise aligned with client objectives.

Project and Client Management
- Execute assigned project tasks to agreed timelines and quality; independently manage limited tasks or workstreams with support, including:
- Apply standard techniques under guidance from the Team Lead and SME.
- Conduct data gathering, validation and analysis including credit model, ECL validation etc.
- Support with the building of deliverables including presentations, reports and other content such as thought leadership whitepapers.
- Join client meetings with support as required; take notes, prepare materials, and follow up on actions.
- Apply commercial thinking to work; identify cost-saving or efficiency opportunities in delivery processes.
- Track and report task-level metrics as requested; flag risks to timelines/quality early with data-driven options
- Ensure compliance with policies, data security, and editorial standards; uphold DEI policies and guidelines in daily work.
You May be a Good Fit if:
- Fluent in English
- Working knowledge of credit risk concepts (e.g., counterparty/sovereign/corporate risk, rating frameworks, basic credit models)
- A curious mind with very strong data analytics skills and problem solving
- The ability to conduct research on an industry or company including financial analysis, it’s competitive environment, industry and market dynamics
- Proficiency with MS Office/365; very strong Excel and data skills; familiarity with collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Jira/Trello or equivalent); basic Python is an advantage
