Fitch Ventures, Fitch Group’s venture capital arm, is currently seeking a Director based out of our New York office.
The team is responsible for making strategic, minority investments in emerging financial technology and services companies across the globe. The Director will work closely with Fitch’s Global Head of M&A and Venture Investments to identify and evaluate potential investment targets that align with Fitch’s strategic objectives, drive the investment underwriting process, and assist in managing the team’s venture portfolio.

We’ll Count on You To:
- Identify investment opportunities that align with Fitch’s strategic interests and objectives
- Pro-active and ongoing analysis of themes and sub-sectors identified in collaboration with Fitch leadership
- Develop dealflow pipeline of potential investments
- Track investments by peer funds and investment activities on a global scale
- Manage all aspects of investment evaluation and underwriting processes
- Compile relevant market research, including synthesis of expert and customer interviews
- Build financial models with sensitivity analysis, exit returns scenarios and market sizing analysis
- Assist with deal and term sheet structuring, due diligence, negotiations and closing transactions
- Develop investment theses and presentations for potential deals
- Support and monitor the investment portfolio
- Work with portfolio companies to understand and support their priorities / needs
- Monitor portfolio performance and prepare quarterly portfolio review presentations
- Assist with commercial / partnership opportunities between Fitch Group and portfolio companies
- Develop and maintain strong relationships both internally across Fitch and externally with startups, venture capital funds, and key vendors
What You Need to Have:
- Exceptional financial modeling, market research, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to work and think independently as well as collaboratively across functions and business units
- Proven ability to perform well in time-sensitive and fast-paced environments
- Highly organized with strong work ethic and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work day-to-day with entrepreneurs and venture capital firms, while navigating and building relationships within a larger corporate environment
- 6+ years of investment banking, venture capital, private equity, and / or corporate development experience
What Would Make You Stand Out:
- Familiarity with Information Services, FinTech and / or Capital Markets highly preferable
- Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills
- Top performer in previous role(s)

FOR NEW YORK ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $175,000 and $200,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
