Lead QA Engineer (Associate Director) 

 

Fitch Technology is currently seeking a Lead Engineer based out of our New York office.

We are seeking a Lead Engineer to enhance the quality assurance processes for our Fitch Ratings workflow applications. This position will involve working closely with the core processes that serve the Fitch Ratings analytical community. The role affords an opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the business domain and ensure data quality for Fitch Ratings.

We’ll Count on You To:

  • Serve as the test lead on an agile squad, Mentor and lead a team of QA engineers
  • Integrate test case execution and reporting within the CI/CD pipeline to align with the DevOps strategy, criteria, requirements, and user stories
  • Work with cross-functional teams including business analysts, developers, and users to build and refine test strategies for your team as well as to ensure integrity of dependent systems
  • Review requirements and specifications to define test conditions.
  • Design test cases and test scripts, mapping back to predetermined criteria, and recording and reporting outcomes.
  • Provide estimates for testing activities and tasks.
  • Prepare Test Strategies, develop Test Plans, Detailed Test Cases, write Test Scripts from Business Requirements, and develop Test Scenarios to ensure quality deliverables.
  • Perform backend (database) testing using complex SQL queries in Oracle.
  • Create regression suites using Python automation frameworks and conduct necessary regression and integration testing.
  • Collaborate closely with the team/users to gather workflow and API details to build automated scripts accordingly.
  • Analyze test results, log defects in JIRA, and work with project team members on issue resolution and re-testing.
  • Document, maintain, track, and report test status using tools such as ALM, JIRA, and qTest.
  • Design and implement automated test suites for a wide range of applications.
  • Ensure integration of automation testing into the DevOps lifecycle.
  • Implement BDD practices and frameworks and enhance test automation

What You Need to Have:

  • 8+ years of Quality Assurance experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in ETL Processes and Data Warehouse Testing.
  • Strong hands-on experience with ORACLE database technologies, including complex ORACLE SQL and PL/SQL scripting for data validation and backend Data Warehouse testing.
  • Proficiency in ETL Processes (Data Warehouse Testing) and BI testing (QlikView, Cognos, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with No-SQL databases, preferably MongoDB.
  • Experience testing Master Data Management systems.
  • Experience with automated testing using Python frameworks (Pandas, Numpy, Requests, Boto3).
  • Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman, SOAPUI, and GraphQL.
  • Strong hands-on experience in test automation of APIs, web services, and Microservices.
  • Proficient in defect tracking and Quality Assurance tools such as ALM and JIRA; qTest experience is a plus.
  • Strong technical skills and good time management abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with QA processes and deliverables in an Agile/SCRUM environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Well-versed in all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).

 

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Experience working with Kafka data streams, Big Data, Postgres DB, and Data Lake.
  • Experience with Amazon AWS services (Athena, S3, Glue, Starburst, etc.).
  • Experience with UI automation tools like Selenium and load testing tools like JMeter.
  • Skilled in writing SQL/NoSQL queries for data verification
  • Exposure to the financial industry domain and data platforms (data warehouses, data lakes)

FOR NEW YORK ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay salary range for this role is $145,000 - $155,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors.  Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
