Senior Market Research Associate (Direct Lending)
The Senior Market Research Associate role is housed within the U.S. Corporate Finance Business Relationship Management (BRM) group based in New York.
The candidate will be a key member of the team. The candidate will work closely with a senior team of experienced leveraged finance, private debt, direct lending, investment grade and industry-focused business development professionals with the goal to market Fitch Ratings services.

We’ll Count on You To:
- The candidate will be responsible for tracking the Direct Lending PMR portfolio including key tracking fields such as Sponsor, EBITDA, Leverage, Industry, etc.
- The candidate will also be the primary contact for entering formal ratings requests into internal workflow portals, preparing Engagement Letters, managing timely billings on new and surveillance credits by working directly with Revenue and Billing team
- The candidate will support the senior members of the US Corporate Finance BRM Team in managing and developing Fitch’s relationships both internally and externally. Working closely with BRM, Analytical, Operations, Revenue & Billing, and Investor Development teams
- Work closely with Middle Office on tracking PMR timelines, documentation and follow ups, rating diligence correspondence etc.
- The candidate will be responsible for research, development, and preparation of marketing materials under guidance from senior members of the team. Individual must be self-sufficient and adept at putting together PowerPoint presentations and working with Excel spreadsheets
- The role requires a basic understanding of the debt capital markets, private credit landscape and ratings business. Some exposure to corporate credit analysis is helpful
What You Need to Have:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a degree in business, finance or economics with strong academic background
- Self-starter who can understand objectives, work independently and is highly motived
- Ability to analyze and evaluate data demonstrated through marketing materials
- Fluency in PowerPoint & Excel skills and ability to create content / marketing materials, such as pitch decks, proposals, and presentations, that highlight Fitch’s expertise and capabilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Team oriented, with an ability to effectively build relationships both externally and internally. Work closely with Analytical and other cross-functional teams to support business development efforts
- High level of focus on work quality and attention to detail
- 2-4 years of relevant work experience, knowledge of CLOs or Structured Finance is a plus

FOR NEW YORK ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $100,000. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
