About the Role

The Associate Director of Technology Operations leads the L2 team—comprising Cloud Administrators and System Administrators—responsible for operating and maintaining Fitch’s IT platforms. The role ensures systems are healthy, secure, reliable, high-performing, and compliant; coordinates day-to-day operations; drives best practices; and partners with stakeholders to meet SLAs and deliver initiatives.

How You’ll Make an Impact: 

  • Lead and mentor the Cloud Solutions Administrators team, setting operational standards and driving best practices across AWS and Azure to ensure systems are healthy, secure, performant, and compliant, while meeting SLAs and stakeholder expectations supporting Fitch's commitment to innovation and optimizing resource utilization for enhanced productivity.
  • Diagnose and escalate-resolve complex issues across Linux, Windows and Kubernetes/containerized environments(EKS/ECS), guiding root-case analysis and preventive measures supporting Fitch's objective of delivering seamless and trustworthy service to clients.
  • Define and Optimize tool configurations using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), orchestration tools establishing enterprises-sale strategies in backups and monitoring tools aligning with Fitch's goal of maintaining high service reliability and minimizing operational disruptions.
  • Architect, implement, and govern automation solutions that streamline processes and increase operational efficiency; establish coding standards and review practices for Python/Java scripts and Terraform to scale automation across the team, aligning with Fitch's goal of growing sustainably with high service reliability and minimizing operational disruptions.
  • Manage Zero trust and web filtering solutions to enhance network security and ensure secure access to resources, aligning with Fitch's goal of safeguarding data and maintaining robust cybersecurity measures across the organization.

 

You May be a Good Fit if:

  • Proven Proficiency in monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Datadog, logic monitors), including designing dashboards and alerting strategies aligned to SLOs.
  • Handson experience with configuration tools such as Ansible and Infrastructure as code (Terraform), including setting standards, code reviews and CI/CD integration.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python; ability to automate manual processes and leverage APIs to manage different tools and Cloud service providers.
  • Deep experience with AWS Cloud services and troubleshooting common network issues (DNS, firewalls, load balancers); familiarity with orchestration tools and Kubernetes (EKS). 1
  • Able to work quickly and effectively under pressure and to efficiently handle multiple priorities simultaneously and communicate clearly with stakeholders, providing guidance and escalations as needed.

  • Hands-on leadership of Kubernetes/containers via EKS or ECS in AWS.
  • Demonstrated success in managing tools and services with Terraform at scale, including modules, state management and policy-as code.
  • Track Record of automating manual processes with Python leveraging APIs to manage tools and infrastructure reliably.
  • Certifications: AWS Cloud Solutions Architect or Sys Ops; Terraform Associate Certification
  • If you have experience with Machine Learning and Agentic Operations

FOR NEW YORK ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $130,000 and $150,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors.  Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch
