About the Role
Fitch Ratings is seeking a Director to join the Structured Finance team in São Paulo. The Brazil SF team covers local-market transactions primarily structured via FIDCs, debentures, and securitization companies (CRIs and CRAs). As a Director, you will own a portfolio of complex credits, lead and develop analysts, set analytical direction, and represent Fitch externally. You will drive rating assignments and reviews across Asset Backes Securities and Structured Credit, including cash flow modeling, legal review, collateral analysis, committee leadership, and clear communication of credit opinions to issuers and investors.

Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio and Analysis: Take responsibility for a portfolio of complex SF transactions. Ensure timely, high-quality new ratings and surveillance.
- Leadership and Execution: Lead, coach, and mentor analysts; set objectives and provide balanced, timely feedback. Supervise work quality and timelines, manage resources across changing priorities, resolve operational hurdles, and lead rating processes and management review meetings.
- Research and Market Presence: Initiate and lead publishable research (special reports, market commentary). Share expertise across teams, contribute to cross-functional initiatives, and represent Fitch externally with originators, servicers, arrangers, investors, and at Fitch events.
- Modeling, Legal, and Compliance: Oversee cash flow modeling and model use. Review and interpret legal documentation to align with criteria and analytical assumptions. Maintain thorough documentation and version control, and ensure adherence to compliance processes.
- Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate rating rationales clearly in presale reports, press releases, presentations, and meetings. Facilitate effective communication within and across teams, encourage contributions, manage conflict constructively, and build strong market relationships.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
- Significant experience in structured finance/securitization within ratings, banking, asset management, or advisory.
- Demonstrated leadership of analysts and portfolios; proven ability to mentor, coach, and develop talent.
- Strong project management skills; able to manage complex, dynamic workloads and deliver on time.
- Proficiency with cash flow modeling and performance analytics; comfort with criteria and model application.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English, including presenting to senior audiences and drafting publishable research.
- Ability to read and interpret legal documents and participate effectively in meetings in Portuguese and English.
- Team-oriented, with a track record of building effective internal and external relationships; high attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Line management experience (hiring, performance feedback, development planning).
- Experience enhancing analytical tools, dashboards, or databases to drive productivity and insight.
- Exposure to multiple SF asset classes (e.g., trade receivables, auto, SME) and to Latin America markets.
