Fitch Ratings is currently seeking a Market Research Associate, Business Relationship Management (BRM) based out of our Shanghai/ Hong Kong office.

About the Team

The Greater China Business Relationship Management (BRM) division provides tactical marketing and business development support across all Fitch Ratings product groups. The team manages issuer marketing, banker and arranger outreach, and Fitch’s visibility and positioning across Greater China and Asia.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

In this role, you will support the Corporate, International Public Finance (IPF), and Global Infrastructure Group (GIG) BRM efforts across Eastern, Central, and Southwestern China, reporting to the Shanghai‑based team leader. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with business originators to meet Corporate/IPF/GIG revenue targets for the Shanghai Centre.
  • Conduct outreach activities and support business development efforts.
  • Assist originators in preparing marketing materials (generic pitch books, customized decks, case studies, CRA award pitch books).
  • Monitor competitor activities and help identify new business opportunities, win mandates, and retain issuer relationships.
  • Engage with issuers and bankers to elevate Fitch’s visibility and generate business.
  • Support outreach initiatives including conferences, seminars, one‑on‑one meetings, electronic communication, and analyst meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of the rating process.
  • Assist with daily operations: KYC preparation, commercial documentation, and Salesforce updates.
  • Coordinate billing activities, track overdue invoices, and communicate with Accounts to ensure timely payments.
  • Maintain and track deal flows; prepare monthly activity and issuer coverage reports.
  • Support regional management reporting requirements and provide backup coverage when needed.

 

You May Be a Good Fit If You Have:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant marketing or relationship management experience in debt capital markets or banking/financial services.
  • A university degree in business, finance, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Fluency in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese and English.
  • Exposure to Bloomberg and strong presentation/negotiation skills.
