Fitch Ratings is currently seeking a Delivery Practice Owner, Associate Director, based out of our Toronto, Canada office.

 

About the Team:

You will join the Delivery Management track within Technology & Data Delivery Enablement, leading Agile squad(s) to enable predictable, high-quality delivery. The Delivery Owner, Associate Director is a squad-facing role and leader within the Delivery Management track of Technology & Data Delivery Enablement, enabling predictable delivery for an Agile squad(s). This role ensures predictable execution, proactive dependency management, and continuous evolution of ways of working. While evolving beyond traditional Scrum Master responsibilities, this role remains deeply rooted in Agile values with coaching at its core.

This position operates within a culture of agility, accountability, delivery excellence, and continuous improvement. It ensures delivery among an Agile squad(s) and drives the integration of AI-enabled practices into the delivery process. Accountable for squad delivery metrics, predictability, and throughput.

As a senior practitioner, this role makes significant contributions Communities of Practice, partners with senior leaders in the chapter to help establish enterprise-wide delivery standards, mentors delivery practitioners, and drives strategic initiatives that elevate delivery maturity and capability at scale.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact: 

End-to-End Squad Delivery

  • Enable delivery outcomes for your squad, ensuring predictable execution and high-quality delivery.
  • Ensure the definition of ready/done and release criteria are consistently applied.
  • Maintain squad-level accountability, modeling best practices within your assigned squad.
  • Ensure the squad meets delivery commitments, drive predictability, throughput, and quality metrics.
  • Facilitate strategic decisions and trade-offs with colleagues and senior leadership.
  • Create transparency in delivery health; provide honest assessments and escalate risks with options and solutions.
  • Mentor Delivery Owners through coaching and Agile leadership.

AI Enablement and Modern Practices

  • Drive adoption of AI-enabled delivery practices; mentor Delivery Owners on AI tool utilization.
  • Identify and pilot new AI capabilities (e.g., AI-assisted planning, automated status updates, intelligent dependency mapping); share learnings with the Agile Delivery Center of Excellence.
  • Champion AI literacy and responsible AI use within delivery management.
  • Contribute to delivery practice evolution by sharing innovations and lessons learned.

Operating Model and Enablement

  • Enable squad-level delivery rituals, escalation protocols, and forums rooted in Agile principles.
  • Drive evidence-based planning and forecasting at the squad level.
  • Keep roadmaps, backlogs, capacity plans, and forecasts synchronized and actionable.
  • Lead retrospectives that identify systemic improvements; drive cross-squad improvement initiatives.
  • Model accountability by owning delivery outcomes and transparently communicating status and risks.

Continuous Improvement and Evolution

  • Coach squad members on flow, predictability, and metrics; leverage modern practices to accelerate delivery.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement.

Center of Excellence Contribution

  • Lead initiatives within the Agile Delivery Center of Excellence and participate in Communities of Practice.
  • Develop delivery standards, playbooks, and best practices.
  • Share innovations across the organization.
  • Contribute to training programs and capability-building initiatives.

 

You May Be a Good Fit If:

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in business, Technology, or a related field, or have equivalent experience.
  • You have 6–8 years in Agile delivery, including 3+ years as a Delivery Owner or Scrum Master, with a proven track record delivering complex initiatives with measurable outcomes.
  • You maintain Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or equivalent certifications.
  • You demonstrate strong executive communication, stakeholder management, and experience mentoring delivery practitioners.
  • You are proficient with delivery tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

 

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Multiple advanced Agile certifications (e.g., CSP, SAFe, Kanban) and experience leading delivery transformation or AI enablement initiatives.
  • Background in establishing delivery standards, playbooks, and Communities of Practice.
  • Experience with Kanban, flow metrics, DevOps practices, or AI-enabled delivery tools.
  • Experience in financial services or regulated industries.

For Toronto roles only: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 CAD and $160,000 CAD per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
