Fitch Ratings’ Energy and Power, Corporate, Infrastructure and Project Finance Group is currently seeking a Director based out of our New York, Chicago, or Toronto office to focus on Midstream Energy corporate and project financed credits. We are seeking a credit analyst with energy infrastructure experience. The primary responsilbilities of the successful candidate will be to focus on the analysis, execution and rating of energy infrastructure transaction in the U.S. and Canada. Intellectual curiosity is critical, along with a willingness and ability to understand and explain topics of analytical complexity.

We’ll Count on You To:

  • Work on leading ratings analysis, execution and research on new and existing North American transactions;
  • Meet with senior management of entities and/or project sponsors, investment bankers and financial advisors, to produce ratings;
  • Identify relevant trends, assess their credit impact and highlight and explain these trends to relevant stakeholders;
  • Gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative data and legal documents for the purpose of producing ratings, publishing credit reports, and contributing to special research reports;
  • Develop and grow strong relationships with the other analytical groups at Fitch to ensure analytical consistency and efficient execution of transactions that involve multiple groups;
  • Mentor junior members of the Energy and Power Infrastructure team.

 

What You Need to Have: 

  • 5+ years of project finance or credit analyst experience, preferably in midstream energy infrastructure; 
  • Solid writing and verbal communication skills;
  • Excelent financial modeling and analysis sklils;
  • Ability to read and fully understand complex structures and to as probing questions to issuers and their advisors;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and display a strong degree of flexibility to take on additional responsibilities, as required.

 

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Rating agency experience;
  • Ratings advisory work;
  • A deep understanding of and a keen interest in infrastructure and project finance;
  • A professional background in capital markets and/or credit analysis;
  • Experience in interpreting complex legal documents such as bank agreements and bond indentures.

FOR NEW YORK AND CALIFORNIA ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $180,000 and $225,000.   Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors.  Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
