This role sits within the APAC Financial Institutions Ratings Group, focused on Non-Bank Financial Institution (NBFI) credit ratings with potential exposure to banks and insurers. Reporting to the Head of APAC NBFIs in Hong Kong, you will play a key role in strengthening our franchise, particularly across Mandarin-speaking markets. We are seeking a self-driven professional who takes ownership, holds high standards, and demonstrates strong analytical rigour, sound judgement, and a genuine commitment to delivering high-quality work.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Take ownership of quantitative and qualitative credit analysis of NBFI credits, driving accurate rating assignments and surveillance that uphold Fitch's analytical standards
  • Manage a portfolio of rated entities with discipline and efficiency, producing high-quality rating reports and thematic research that deliver the speed, relevance, and insight clients increasingly expect
  • Present and defend credit views at rating committees, contributing to the consistency and integrity of Fitch's ratings process
  • Build trusted relationships with issuers, investors, and other key stakeholders to support franchise growth across the region
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and process improvements, including through the thoughtful application of AI-enabled tools

You May be a Good Fit if:

  • 5+ years of experience in credit or risk analysis, with exposure to financial institutions, particularly NBFIs, banks, or insurers
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with a structured approach to problem-solving and forming well-reasoned judgments
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, compelling insights
  • Native or fluent proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to meet issuer management across the region

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Prior experience at a rating agency or in a fixed income or credit-focused role
  • Strong academic background in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field
  • Proven ability to take ownership of a coverage portfolio, manage competing priorities effectively, and deliver high-quality work independently
  • Proficiency in an additional Asian language
