Fitch Ratings is seeking a Director for Corporates, Infrastructure, and Project Finance Ratings based out of our Korea or Hong Kong office.

About the Team
The role sits within the APAC Corporates, Infrastructure, and Project Finance (CIPF) Ratings Group and focuses on credit ratings for Korean non-financial corporates across a range of sectors. The successful candidate will join a team with deep expertise in Fitch-rated issuers and broader credit trends, and will contribute to the delivery of high-quality research and rating reports. The role also offers the opportunity to support the continued growth of Fitch’s franchise in the region.
How You'll Make an Impact:
- Assume primary analytical responsibility for a portfolio of issuers across diverse industries. Conduct in-depth credit analysis, including evaluating financial statements and other relevant qualitative and quantitative data.
- Present and defend credit views and recommendations at rating committees and contribute to the timely and accurate preparation of rating reports and rationales
- Prepare detailed research reports, providing analytical insights into key credit issues and trends
- Monitor and interpret developments in the Korean corporate sectors, including regulatory changes, macroeconomic trends, and market dynamics, and assess their credit implications.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including issuers, investors, bankers and regulators, to gather insights and provide expert opinions on credit-related matters. Similarly engage with the media.
- Support the Team Head and the Business and Relationship Management team in outreach work by researching the performance of target companies, preparation of outreach material and participating in external meetings.
- Collaborate with global teams to ensure methodological consistency, analytical rigor, and accuracy across ratings and research outputs.
You May be a Good Fit If:
- 5-10+ years of experience in credit or equity research, corporate banking credit departments, investment banking and/or other relevant corporate finance roles
- Native or fluent written and spoken Korean, with advanced English language skills
- Strong understanding of the Korean corporate sectors, regulatory landscape, and macroeconomic drivers.
- Proven strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw well-supported conclusions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with clarity and precision in presenting credit views
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively
What Would Make You Stand Out:
- CFA qualification
- Current or prior coverage or knowledge of Korean corporate sectors, including Industrial, TMT and/or Utilities
- Strong ability to formulate and deliver concise opinions, facts and arguments both verbally and in writing
