Role Overview

Fitch Ratings is seeking a Head of Analytics, Sri Lanka to lead its analytical franchise in Colombo. This leadership role will oversee rating activity across all asset classes, manage the local analyst team, and ensure the consistent application of criteria, analytical policies and governance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead analytical coverage and rating activity across Sri Lanka for all issuers, including Financial Institutions and Corporate issuers.
  • Manage, coach and develop the performance of the local analytical team.
  • Set analytical priorities, allocate resources and manage workflow across teams and sectors.
  • Lead analytical hiring in Sri Lanka, including workforce planning, candidate assessment and onboarding.
  • Ensure consistent application of criteria and analytical policies.
  • Oversee quality control for rating rationales, commentaries and research related to Sri Lanka.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local regulations, policies, and procedures governing analytical functions.
  • Participate in issuer management meetings and represent Fitch in external analytical engagements.
  • Produce and/or oversee timely market commentary in support of analytical work, and present views and maintain relationships with key market participants, including investors, bankers, regulators and the media.
  • Partner closely with operations, compliance and commercial colleagues while maintaining analytical independence.

 

What You Need to Have:

  • At least 10 years of experience in credit analysis, financial analysis, research, or a related area within a credit rating agency, bank, investment firm, or other financial services institution.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management experience, including managing and developing a team of at least five analysts.
  • Deep knowledge of rating criteria, analytical governance, and regulatory framework relevant to credit rating activities.
  • Proven ability to engage credibly with senior issuer management teams, regulators, and market participants.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high quality analytical content and represent Fitch externally.
  • Direct experience across Sri Lankan Financial Institutions and/or Corporate sectors is preferred.
