Fitch Ratings is currently seeking a Structured Finance (RMBS) Credit Analyst at Senior Analyst or Associate Director based out of our London office.

About the Team
The RMBS team is responsible for providing ratings for all securities backed by residential mortgage loans. In addition, the RMBS team is actively involved in publishing research in relation to both RMBS performance as well as mortgage market fundamentals. Within the RMBS team, the ESF Operational Risk Group (ORG) is responsible for operational risk assessments of residential and commercial mortgage loan and ABS servicers in Europe. The ESF ORG team was launched in the UK and Italy in 2001. Since then, the servicer ratings analysis was extended to the Netherlands, Greece and Iberia and has over 50 ratings outstanding to over 20 servicers in 7 countries.
The ESF ORG team also assists SF analysts across all asset classes, both for new transactions and surveillance of existing transactions. The team places a high priority on the quality of its analysis, transparency of its research and its responsiveness to market participants.
The successful candidate will be involved in such activities when necessary.

- A role with a wide variety of daily tasks including discussion with loan servicers, issuers, qualitative and quantitative analysis, presenting results in rating committees and writing rating reports.
- A London-based team covering UK RMBS issuers and European servicers, embedded in the wider European Structured Finance team allowing for exposure to a wide range of credit cases.
- Structured training program giving you the knowledge and skills to rate Structured Finance transactions.
- A flexible work environment with the ability to work remotely for up to two days per week.
- Occasional travel in Europe to meet with existing and prospective servicers
We’ll Count on You To:
- Coordinate and perform analysis of new and existing servicer rating, including collecting and analysing information received from loan servicers and updating scorecards used for servicer rating analysis.
- Perform analysis of new and monitor existing transactions including collecting and analysing portfolio data, cash flow modelling, review of legal documentation and analysis of the transaction structure for 50% of the time.
- Communicate with external parties involved in the rating process including leading management meetings.
- Present your analysis in rating committees.
- Publish rating reports and press releases.
- Potential for future participation in the publication of research on topical market developments.
What You Need to Have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Applications from individuals with additional relevant experience in place of a bachelor’s degree are welcome.
- Two or more years prior professional experience. Experience in the financial services industry, loan servicing, securitisation market, risk management, treasury or the mortgage industry would be advantageous.
- Strength in numeracy and proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
