About the Team

The Endpoint Engineering team is part of the global infrastructure organisation and is responsible for supporting and maintaining enterprise endpoint platforms, including Windows, macOS, mobile, and virtual devices. The team works closely with Service Desk, Security, and Infrastructure Engineering to ensure reliable, secure, and consistent enduser experience through modern device management and automation.

How You’ll Make an Impact: 

As a Junior Endpoint Engineer, you will focus on operational support, troubleshooting, and execution, working under the guidance of more senior engineers.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve Level 2 escalations from the Service Desk and development teams related to endpoint, application, and device issues.
  • Investigate and remediate issues affecting Windows endpoints, virtual desktops, and developer workstations, with a focus on service restoration and stability.
  • Support development environment configurations, including troubleshooting tooling, dependencies, permissions, endpoint settings, and security controls required for developer productivity.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and driver related issues, including:
    • Device compatibility problems
    • Driver installation or update failures
    • Peripheral and docking station issues
    • Hardware behaviour impacting performance or stability
  • Assist with validating hardware compatibility with standard endpoint builds and approved device models.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune and MECM), including monitoring, troubleshooting, and executing approved configuration changes.
  • Assist with privileged application control and endpoint security controls, including troubleshooting blocked applications, validating requests, and supporting approved policy updates or exceptions.
  • Assist with application packaging, testing, and deployment using Intune and MECM, following established standards and documentation.
  • Perform routine operational tasks such as patching support, compliance checks, vulnerability remediation activities, and endpoint health monitoring.
  • Work with senior endpoint engineers to implement approved configurations, security baselines, and policy changes.
  • Partner with the Service Desk to reduce repeat incidents by identifying common issues, contributing to knowledge articles, and supporting automation efforts where applicable.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Participate in endpoint related projects such as device lifecycle management, endpoint modernisation initiatives, and tooling improvements.
  • Participate in an on call rotation for after-hours support of critical endpoint issues, with defined escalation paths and senior engineer support.

 

 You May be a Good Fit if:

  • 1–3 years of experience in endpoint support, desktop engineering, or advanced IT support roles.
  • Hands on experience supporting:
    • Windows 10/11 endpoints
    • Azure AD / Entra ID (basic understanding of device and user concepts)
    • Microsoft Intune and/or MECM in a support or operational capacity
  • Experience troubleshooting:
    • Intune CSP/Group Policy and Active Directory–related issues
    • Device enrolment, application deployment, and update failures
    • Office 365 application issues
    • Developer tools configuration issues (WSL, Docker, VS Code, CLI)
  • Familiarity with endpoint concepts such as:
    • Compliance policies and configuration profiles
    • Application deployment types (Win32, MSI, Store apps)
  • Working knowledge for networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, Proxy)
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell for:
    • Running and modifying existing scripts
  • Advanced troubleshooting, data gathering and log analysis.
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset, with the ability to follow processes and escalate appropriately.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to document issues and solutions clearly.
  • A desire to learn, grow, and develop deeper engineering skills over time.
  • Demonstrated ownership mindset, seeking to eliminate root causes and improve user experience.

What Would Make You Stand Out: 

  • PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit (PSADT). Basic skills:
    • Creating and modifying deployment scripts using PSADT
    • Packaging and deploying applications with PSADT
    • Customising user prompts and installation messages
  • Troubleshooting and logging application deployments
  • Understanding PSADT command-line options and functions
  • Managing application detection and remediation logic
  • Familiarity with software packaging technologies (EXE, MSI, MSIX, INTUNEWIN).
  • Experience with thirdparty patching platforms (e.g., Patch My PC).
  • Strong PowerShell automation expertise and familiarity with Gitbased workflows.
  • Experience with vulnerability management tools and endpoint telemetry/observability platforms.
  • Microsoft certifications related to Endpoint, Azure, or Security.
