Fitch Ratings’ FI BRM team is seeking a Director or Senior Director to join our London office.
This exciting role sits within the FI Business & Relationship Management (“BRM”) group in London. The main objective of the role is to originate new rating mandates, primarily through banker and intermediary relationships. The FI Group covers Banks, Non-bank Financial Institutions (NBFIs), and Insurance companies, with BRM leading business development for Fitch Ratings.

We’ll Count on You To:
You will broaden relationships with key FI bankers and support the team in originating new rating mandates through these relationships, mainly in the London market but also across EMEA. A major focus will be raising Fitch’s profile with bankers and other intermediaries through meetings, targeted events, and thought leadership.
Key deliverables include:
- Originate new business by engaging with a network of bankers and other intermediaries (DCM, Syndicate, and Origination, in IG and HY/LevFin, across public and private markets)
- Take a strategic approach to expand and capitalise on Fitch Ratings’ FI market presence, leveraging banker relationships to create opportunities
- Map Fitch’s FI banker relationships in the London market and support EMEA-wide mapping
- Develop a deep understanding of the credit rating landscape and articulate the benefits of Fitch to bankers/intermediaries
- Collaborate closely with EMEA FI BRM colleagues, including those focused on issuer relationships and FI subject matter experts
- Coordinate with BRM teams covering other asset classes, including Corporates and Structured Finance
- Propose creative ideas for new outreach initiatives
- Occasional travel required, primarily London-focused
What You Need to Have:
This role requires strong existing banker relationships and a deep understanding of the FI and debt capital markets landscape, ideally gained from an origination, advisory or coverage role. Demonstrated ability to drive revenue from both established and self-managed contacts is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, with a proven track record in developing commercial relationships and opportunities.
Additionally, the candidate should have:
- Excellent English language skills
- Strong command of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently and develop and implement growth strategies
- Strong team orientation and relationship-building skills, internally and externally
What Would Make You Stand Out:
- An understanding of credit analysis and the role of credit ratings in capital markets
- Established banker / intermediary relationships in London and EMEA
- Experience in the FI sector (Banks, NBFI, Insurance); familiarity with Corporates (Levfin and/or IG)
- Proven experience in debt capital markets and in public/private funding solutions
- Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM systems, and financial data platforms such as Bloomberg and FactSet
- Professional or business qualifications (CFA, relevant Master’s degree)
- Aptitude for learning and developing AI solutions to drive business outcomes
