About the Team

We are seeking a seasoned Risk Advisory Team Lead to anchor our Mumbai practice and serve as a cornerstone of our client-facing consultancy offering. This senior role requires a proven track record experience spanning consultancy, credit risk methodologies, and stakeholder engagement.

Beyond technical expertise, the successful candidate will be a cultural ambassador for the Mumbai office — fostering collaboration, mentoring junior talent, and providing leadership across other BMI functions within the local team.

Exposure to rating methodologies, credit frameworks, or risk model advisory — is essential, with direct Risk Advisory consultancy experience preferred. This is an opportunity for a commercially minded leader to shape both the team and the client agenda.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Provide thought leadership as a credit risk subject matter expert, driving innovation and best practices across the business.
  • Lead delivery through hands-on contributions, collaborating closely with quantitative and analytics experts to achieve high‑quality outcomes.
  • Provide people leadership, including coaching and development, performance management, and succession planning for the team.
  • Lead and support recruitment activities to attract and retain high‑calibre talent.
  • Support pre‑sales activities by contributing subject‑matter expertise and thought leadership to client proposals and engagements.
  • Foster a high‑performing, inclusive team culture while consistently upholding and role‑modelling organisational values.

You May be a Good Fit if:

  • Extensive experience in Credit Ratings
  • Demonstrable client-facing experience with a track record of managing senior stakeholder as a consultant
  • Strong background in credit risk solutions — including credit frameworks, rating methodologies (e.g. Basel III/IV, RBI guidelines)
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop teams
  • Ability to lead and collaborate across non-risk advisory functions within a wider office environment
  • Cultural leader — capable of embedding and carrying team values across the Mumbai office
  • Familiarity with regulatory credit risk frameworks
  • Experience in model governance, documentation, and regulatory review processes

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to business development, pitches, and client proposals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level reporting and presentation
  • Experience operating within a matrixed, global organisation
