Fitch Solutions is currently seeking a Financial Senior Analyst based out of our New York office.
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Finance Analyst will be responsible for collecting outstanding debts from global customers, allocating cash, resolving invoice queries, performing account reconciliations, and supporting debtor reporting within a busy, team-oriented global Accounts Receivable department.
BACKGROUND TO THE DEPT:
The Accounts Receivable team is a global team and consists of 22 staff split between the New York and London offices. This position will be based in New York. This is a busy department, and it is important that the candidate can work well in a team environment.
MANAGER’S VIEW OF THE ROLE:
This position is a key role in the Accounts Receivable team. The role involves collecting from global customers for payment of their invoices. This is a multi million-dollar ledger with a high volume of invoicing for large values. The right candidate will hit the ground running, will be keen to learn about the Business and build solid internal and external relationships. The successful candidate will need a clear and confident manner with both the Business and our customers. The candidate should have good Accounts Receivable experience with confidence to perform account reconciliations and assist with some monthly reporting where needed. The role requires a methodical individual with an eye for detail. With good organizational skills to ensure timely, well managed collections. The successful candidate will be encouraged to bring forward ideas, challenge existing ways of working where appropriate, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and collaboration within the Accounts Receivable team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasks include contacting customers by phone and email to chase outstanding invoices, maintaining detailed collection notes, allocating payments, resolving unallocated cash items, attending meetings to discuss collection issues, performing account reconciliations, and supporting monthly reporting along with other ad-hoc duties.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES:
Essential qualifications include above-average Excel skills, experience with AI software like Co Pilot, a good general education, prior experience in a global Accounts Receivable department, flexibility, teamwork, multitasking ability, pressure handling, and strong organizational and communication skills.
Experience with SAP accounting software is advantageous but not required.
