Business Relationship Management – Structured Finance - CMBS, Senior Director (NY)

Fitch Ratings is currently seeking a Senior Director of Structured Finance Business & Relationship Management – US CMBS based out of our New York office.

About the Team

The US CMBS Business Relationship Management team focuses on building, developing, and maintaining relationships with issuers, bankers and asset managers to expand ratings coverage and support revenue growth in our CMBS ratings business.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Business Development & Opportunity Generation: Identify, screen, and pursue new business opportunities across the CMBS market; originate new ratings mandates; negotiate engagement agreements; and contribute to business and market outreach plans. 

External Relationship Management: Serve as a senior-facing relationship manager for existing and prospective issuers, bankers and asset managers, supporting the development of strategic relationships across the CMBS market with the goal of expanding opportunities and increasing market share. 

Market & Pipeline Analysis: Analyze pipeline and market share reports for strategic insights to support business development priorities and market positioning. Contribute to annual budgeting process.

Marketing & Events: Oversee and develop marketing materials to support external engagement and new business efforts. 

Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing and Events teams on CMBS events, client entertainment, conferences. Liaise with other business relationship management colleagues on common relationships. Actively support Fitch initiatives, promoting Fitch’s opinions, criteria, research, and products.

You May Be a Good Fit If

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or economics. 
  • At least 10 years work experience plus relevant, strong knowledge of the CMBS market or broader Structured Finance
  • Demonstrated successful experience in business development, relationship management, and opportunity generation with external market participants. 
  • An energetic, proactive approach and the willingness to travel for meetings and conferences. 
  • Excellent communication skills and ablilty to communicate at a senior level
  • Team oriented with ability to build relationships both internally and externally
  • Knowledge of Salesforce a plus.

FOR NEW YORK ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $200,000 and $270,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors.  Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
