Fitch Group is currently seeking a Director, M&A Accounting & Integration based out of our New York office.  

 

Position Summary

Fitch Group is seeking a Director, M&A Accounting & Integration to join the Controllership organization. This role will serve as the finance lead for acquisitions from diligence through post-close integration, ensuring acquired businesses are successfully incorporated into Fitch's accounting, reporting, control, and operational finance environment.

The Director will partner closely with Corporate Development, Controllership, Tax, Treasury, Legal, FP&A, Technology, and business leadership to assess transaction impacts, execute acquisition accounting, and lead integration efforts across finance functions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with hands-on integration experience, project management capabilities, and the ability to drive complex cross-functional initiatives.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact: 

  • Lead accounting support for acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic transactions.
  • Partner with Corporate Development during diligence to evaluate accounting, financial reporting, and operational finance considerations.
  • Coordinate and review purchase accounting analyses under US GAAP.
  • Manage opening balance sheet development and validation for acquired entities.
  • Assess accounting implications of earnouts, contingent consideration, debt structures, intangible assets, and goodwill.
  • Coordinate with external valuation specialists, auditors, and advisors.
  • Support financial statement disclosures related to acquisitions.
  • Develop and execute finance integration strategies for acquired businesses.
  • Coordinate workstreams across accounting, AP, AR, treasury, payroll, tax, reporting, procurement, and financial systems.
  • Drive alignment of accounting policies, procedures, controls, and reporting frameworks.
  • Lead ERP and finance systems integration efforts, including chart of accounts, legal entity, reporting hierarchy, and master data alignment.
  • Oversee integration of billing, revenue, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, and treasury processes.
  • Ensure complete and accurate data conversion and reconciliation throughout integration projects.
  • Ensure acquired entities are incorporated into monthly close, consolidation, and financial reporting processes.
  • Support integration of statutory reporting, audit requirements, and regulatory compliance processes.
  • Serve as the primary finance integration leader across acquired businesses.
  • Present integration status, risks, and recommendations to Controllership and Finance leadership. 

 

You May be a Good Fit if:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting, controllership, transaction advisory, or integration experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and business combination accounting (ASC 805).
  • Experience leading acquisition accounting and post-merger integration projects.
  • Experience working with complex ERP implementations and financial system integrations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

FOR NEW YORK ROLES ONLY

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between USD 140,000 and 170,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors.  Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
