About the Team

The ESG Country Research team produces data-driven analysis of how ESG issues affect macroeconomics, key industries, and financial markets for a global audience. Client presentations and custom research projects also form part of the regular workload.

What We Offer:

  • Great development opportunities for someone looking to become a subject matter expert in key ESG issues including physical climate risk, water scarcity, pollution, nature risk, and their impacts on markets and economics.
  • Develop and build qualitative and quantitative data skills and use them to enhance the BMI ESG Country service – including individual reports as well as new product lines – based on client demand and in collaboration with other BMI and Fitch Solutions teams.
  • Present own research to high-profile clients, assist them with investment projects and day-to-day operations, and learn from their feedback.
  • Opportunity to translate own ideas into in-demand products.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Take ownership of a suite of specific country reports and content sets and develop related views and datasets.
  • Identify and analyse key trends and articulate the risks and opportunities facing sector stakeholders up and down the value chain.
  • Produce insightful and actionable research and contribute to ad hoc reports and special projects as you become a subject matter expert.
  • Interact with and support our global sales team and with clients to communicate our industry views and drive engagement with our data.
  • Support team leaders in the development of new research initiatives evolving with the industry.

You May be a Good Fit If You:

  • Demonstrate your ability to analyse and predict the impact of ESG issues on economies, industries, and financial markets using data, qualitative analysis, and critical thinking.
  • Communicate your analysis and the “so what” clearly and convincingly, including verbally, in writing, and through data analysis and visualisation.
  • Are able to work to multiple deadlines and manage communications with multiple stakeholders.

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Formal qualification (degree, certificate) and/or previous experience with analysing ESG topics, such as physical climate risk, climate adaptation, water scarcity, pollution, nature risk, human and labour rights.
  • Previous exposure to ESG reporting frameworks.
  • Awareness of developing demand for ESG data and analytics globally.
  • Track record of innovation, resourcefulness, and proactive and constructive problem-solving.
  • Ability to efficiently deploy AI solutions without sacrificing quality.
