Credit Analyst – Structured Finance – Brazil

Fitch Ratings is seeking a Credit Analyst to join its Structured Finance team in São Paulo.

The analyst will support the assignment and ongoing surveillance of ratings across Brazilian structured finance and securitization transactions, including asset-backed securities and structured credit. The role combines quantitative analysis, cash flow modeling, collateral performance assessment, review of transaction structures and legal documentation, preparation of rating committee materials and clear communication of credit views to internal and external stakeholders.

What We Offer:

  • Develop broad credit expertise across structured finance asset classes and transaction types, with exposure to both new ratings and surveillance.
  • Receive hands-on training in Fitch’s criteria, analytical tools, cash flow models and rating committee process.
  • Work in a collaborative local and regional team, with regular interaction with experienced analysts and senior decision-makers.
  • Build market knowledge through engagement with issuers, originators, servicers, arrangers, investors and other securitization participants.
  • Contribute to published research and commentary on relevant credit and securitization trends.

We’ll Count on You To:

  • Analyze collateral performance, portfolio characteristics and key credit, legal, operational and structural risks in structured finance transactions.
  • Build, run and review cash flow and credit models, apply Fitch criteria and perform sensitivity and downside analyses.
  • Review transaction documentation and data, identify information gaps and coordinate analytical follow-ups with internal teams and external counterparties.
  • Prepare clear, well-supported rating committee materials and present analytical conclusions in rating discussions, with increasing ownership as experience develops.
  • Monitor an assigned portfolio of outstanding transactions, evaluate performance trends and emerging risks, and recommend timely rating actions when appropriate.
  • Draft high-quality rating reports, presale reports, surveillance updates, market commentaries and other internal or external analytical materials.
  • Participate in meetings with issuers, originators, servicers, arrangers and other transaction parties, asking focused questions and documenting key analytical conclusions.
  • Maintain accurate analytical records, meet deadlines and support regional research, criteria and special projects.

What You Need to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, business administration, accounting, engineering or a related quantitative field.
  • Approximately two to three years of relevant professional experience in credit analysis, structured finance, securitization, banking, asset management, audit, consulting or a related area.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret financial statements, portfolio data and transaction performance information.
  • Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with financial models.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English.
  • Intellectual curiosity, sound judgment and the ability to develop and clearly articulate independent credit views.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Prior exposure to securitization or structured credit products in Brazil, including FIDCs, CRIs, CRAs or other asset-backed transactions.
  • Experience with cash flow modeling, credit underwriting, portfolio analytics or legal and structural analysis of financial transactions.
  • Knowledge of fixed-income markets.
