Fitch Ratings is currently seeking a Market Research Associate joining the Business Relationship Management team based out of our Shanghai office.
The Greater China Business Relationship Management (BRM) division provides tactical marketing and business development management covering all Fitch Ratings product groups. The team is responsible for:
- Issuer Marketing / Business Origination (across Sovereigns, Financial Institutions, Corporates, Structured Finance, International Public Finance, amongst others)
- Banker / Arranger outreach
- Managing visibility and positioning Fitch in Greater China and Asia
How You’ll Make an Impact:
Reporting to the Hong Kong-based team leader, you will support BRM activities covering Financial Institutions (FI) in Eastern, Central and Southwestern China (covered by Shanghai centre) and the wider Greater China BRM teams as needed. This role requires occasional business travel.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work closely with business originators to meet the FI revenue budgets for Shanghai Centre
- Interact with internal and external counterparts (issuers, bankers, analysts, etc.) to ensure smooth execution on new rating exercises and provide timely support with documentation preparation
- Assist with renegotiations on issuer contract renewals, prepare billings, and work closely with business originators and accounts to ensure timely billing
- Assist with Know-Your-Customer (KYC) procedures
- Conduct market research and data analysis as needed to create pitching material and update issuance market share and entity market share
- Maintain and track FI deal flows and produce periodic BRM reporting requirements for Shanghai Centre, as well as the wider Greater China team, as required
- Support Fitch’s marketing outreach initiatives as required (conferences, seminars, one-on-one meetings, electronic delivery, analyst meetings, etc.)
- Provide back-up coverage to business originators in Greater China when required
You May be a Good Fit if Have:
- A minimum of 2-3 years relevant marketing or relationship management experience in debt capital markets or banking/financial services sectors
- Degree educated with specialization in business, finance and other relevant disciplines
- Exposure to Bloomberg / Wind / DMI as well as having effective presentation and negotiation skills is advantageous
- Fluent verbal and written Mandarin Chinese and English
