Fitch Ratings is currently seeking a Credit Analyst joining our Australia/New Zealand Structured Finance and Covered Bonds team, based out of our Sydney office.

The Australian Structured Finance (SF) and Covered Bonds (CVB) team is currently a team of 15 analysts covering all asset classes in Australian and New Zealand SF and CVB.

  • Variety of work with ability to work on multiple asset classes (as well as new asset classes and issuers), in both rating new transactions as well as monitoring existing transactions.

How You’ll Make an Impact: 

  • Rating new transactions, including looking at new asset classes and issuers.
  • Ensure all structured finance transactions/CvB programmes are reviewed on a continuous 12-month schedule, and all transactions/programmes have been reviewed at least once a year by the due date:
    • Performing data analysis in excel.
    • Executing Fitch generated models.
    • Prepare high-quality analytical documentation and present findings in committee meetings
  • Provide timely commentary on market and transaction performance.
  • Manage queries from issuers/bankers/investors – represent Fitch and communicate effectively with external transaction parties.
  • Participate in originator/servicer review meetings.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects, reporting, and authoring of reports.

 

You May be a Good Fit if Have:

  • Undergraduate degree in finance related discipline.
  • For Analyst level: A minimum of 18 months experience at a financial institution working in the mortgage or asset finance departments (preference in a credit or analytical related role)

 

OR

 

For Senior Analyst level: 3-5 years structured finance experience gained at an issuer, arranger or trustee, in a role that required:

    • The candidate to work in excel to manipulate, transform and perform calculation to generate an analytical result to support their proposal / recommendations
    • The candidate to prepare documentation to support their proposals / recommendations.
  • Intermediate excel skills with knowledge of following functionality [vlookup(), sumif(), if(), index(), match() etc.
  • Strong time management skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • An analytical individual who enjoys working with spreadsheets to generate a solution / result.

  • Expertise in Structured Finance: Demonstrated experience and an understanding of securitization markets, credit analysis, and transaction structuring across a variety of asset classes.
  • Previous credit experience.
