About the Team

  • Based in Sydney and reporting to the APAC head of Investor development, this role is part of the Global Investor Development team, in the Fitch Ratings’ Business & Relationship Management (BRM) organization.
  • Fitch’s Investor Development team aims at positioning Fitch Ratings as the agency of choice with investors in both established and new markets and sectors. Through a wide range of outreach activities and campaigns, it promotes the agency’s research, thought leadership, ratings and capabilities among key market participants and educates on criteria, rating assumptions and case studies.
  • Ultimately the goal of the team is to embed Fitch ratings and support analytics in investor workflows, by driving deeper engagement, providing timely and actionable service levels, offering improved products, and removing barriers to adoption and usage.
  • It also acts as the voice of the investor community within Fitch Ratings, providing critical feedback on rating performance, criteria, analytical interactions and content.
  • The team offers a high-visibility role with direct interaction with large institutional investors and industry groups and a collaborative team environment with exposure to dynamic, fast-paced industry trends.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact: 

You will be responsible in Australia and New Zealand for

  • Strengthening Fitch’s brand presence and embedding Fitch ratings into investor workflows, helping to shift market perceptions that may favor incumbent rating agencies and supporting broader acceptance of Fitch ratings across asset classes.
  • Developing outreach strategies across domestic, regional and global asset classes — sovereigns, financial institutions, structured finance, corporates/infrastructures, for buy-side, sell side analysts, superannuation funds, investor associations, and industry groups.
  • Managing, deepening, and expanding Fitch’s relationships with fixed income investment professionals across a portfolio of key institutional investors.
  • Organizing meetings with analysts, presenting Fitch’s capabilities, educating investors on criteria and rating assumptions, and demonstrating use cases for ratings.
  • Leading broader outreach and visibility initiatives (conferences, roadshows, webinars, roundtables, focused groups, content distribution, thought leadership publications, surveys) in partnership with BRM, Marketing, and Events teams.
  • Developing partnerships with sell side research, investor associations and industry groups leveraging Fitch’s content and thought leadership.
  • Designing and driving a program of virtual and in-person events and campaigns to increase transparency of credit views and rating assumptions and showcase rating capabilities and broader thought leadership, in collaboration with BRM which drives origination priorities and the APAC Marketing team which executes on events and campaigns.
  • Preparing and delivering external messaging that highlights the factors differentiating Fitch and its published ratings and research from competitors.
  • Identifying and helping to address remaining barriers to Fitch’s adoption in domestic capital markets, including investment guidelines, indices, and market platforms.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for analytical groups on content ideation, market feedback, and investor data analysis, while proactively recommending topics for research and data products based on investor feedback.
  • Gathering and communicating insights on domestic capital markets, financial regulation, and policy developments that influence the use of CRA content and services.
  • Identifying and promoting business opportunities for Fitch Solutions and Fitch Learning.

 

You May be a Good Fit if:

  • 8 to 12 or more years’ sellside or buyside experience in international fixed income capital market is required to perform this role successfully
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long term relationships
  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to create strategic messaging
  • Highly motivated and self-driven with organisational and time-management skills
  • Degree educated or equivalent work experience

  • Existing contacts and relationships with large Australian and New Zealand investors is beneficial
  • Genuine proficiency in Salesforce and SharePoint is a plus.
