Fitch Ratings is currently seeking a Credit Analyst (Analyst / Senior Analyst) in the Financial Institutions - Benelux Banks team based out of our Warsaw/Madrid office (other continental Europe locations also possible).

We are currently looking for an Analyst / Senior Analyst to join our Western European Banks team to be based in Warsaw or Madrid (other locations such as Frankfurt could be also considered), focusing predominantly on the ratings of banks in the Benelux. In this role, candidates will gain hands-on exposure to bank credit analysis in a dynamic international environment, working closely with experienced analysts across a wide range of markets. The role offers a steep learning curve, significant analytical responsibility from an early stage, and exposure to senior management at rated institutions

How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Monitoring a portfolio of issuer ratings, including the preparation of rating committee documentation
- Analysing the financial institutions sector and individual bank data across diverse operating environments, while developing an understanding of how economic, regulatory, and market developments influence credit profiles
- Updating and enhancing internal analytical tools used for peer analysis and charts
- Drafting and publishing comprehensive rating reports on individual issuers
- Participating in credit rating committees for banks in their allocated region and other countries, with exposure to a broad range of business models and credit considerations
- Interacting with issuer contacts and gaining valuable exposure to senior management at banks through rating meetings and ongoing dialogue
- Contributing to sector-specific research and commentary, including the preparation of peer data, country snapshots and sector background information
- Supporting the wider team in the coverage of other banks in the portfolio; including reviewing annual and quarterly accounts, responding to ad-hoc data requests, and helping to prepare committee packs
You May be a Good Fit if You Have:
- Proven analytical experience (between 2 and 5 years), ideally in credit- or audit-related fields, gained from working at a commercial/investment bank, accountancy firm, buy-side firm, regulatory authority, rating agency, or similar.
- Background in either financial institutions or corporate credit analysis. Experience in developed markets bank analysis is desirable.
- Excellent demonstrable written and verbal communication skills in English and Italian or Spanish are essential.
- Good educational background to at least a first university degree level, preferably with professional qualifications (such as CFA).
- Ability to work independently as well as being a good team player.
- Ability to cope with time pressure and work to deadlines.
- Strong writing and communication skills as well as strong command of financial statement analysis.
- Proficient in Excel.
This position will involve occasional travel.

Expected annualized salary for the role will be between 140,000 - 160,000 PLN (analyst level) and 180,000 – 200,000 PLN (senior analyst level) per annum. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits such as pension, health and life insurance sponsored by Fitch.
